Charles Youl, pastoralist of 'Symmons Plains', was born on 7 Nov 1843 to Sir James Arndell Youl and his wife Eliza Cox. He was a descendant of Rev. John Youl, the first chaplain of St John's Church, Launceston. He visited England on two occasions where he married his wife Charlotte Locklina Flexmore at St George's Church, Hanover Square, London, on 20 Nov 1872. Their three children were born in Tasmania between 1873 and 1878. Charles died 13 Sep 1906. His wife also appears in the Album.
