This is possibly Frederick Alexander John Tubbs who was born at Longford on 15 Sep 1854 and baptised at Christ Anglican Church on 18 Oct 1854. He was the eldest of fourteen children of Daniel Tubb(s) (1824-1890) and Henrietta Ayling (1838-1882). Daniel Tubbs was a wheelwright at the time of Frederick's birth, but was later described as a farmer, yeoman and storekeeper. Henrietta's father, Henry Ayling, was a prisoner of the crown when she was born.
Frederick may have been a good sportsman as he was reported in The Examiner as participating in several cricket matches associated with the Exhibition in 1891-92.
Frederick married Catherine Seymour in 1889 in Victoria and had two children, Margaret and William Daniel. He was a farmer at Tamleugh, near Shepparton, Victoria, from at least 1903 to 1924. He died at Euroa, Victoria, in 1925, aged 70.
