Florence Nightingale Richardson was born on 10 May 1857, the second child of Dr James Richardson (1808-1889) and his wife Agnes Percy Peet (1827-1913). She was born at Hagley when her father was managing 'Quamby' estate for his brother-in-law Sir Richard Dry. The family lived at 'Quamby House Farm' at the time. The family then moved to Launceston, then George Town, before returning to Launceston. Florence did not marry, and died 17 Oct 1929 aged 72. She was buried at the Carr Villa Cemetery in Section B11 No. 93 with her sister Kate. See The Examiner 9 Jun 2007, page 44.
