This is possibly James Pearl junior, born in Launceston on 27 Nov 1858, a son of James Pearl and Hannah Repton. James was the eldest of their four children. He married Priscilla James on 20 May 1883. Their children were Frederick, 1884-1895; Frank, 1886; Wilmot, 1888-1961; George, 1890-1941; Winifred, 1891; John, 1894; Miriam, 1895-1895; Charles, 1896 and Benjamin, 1900-1955.
At the time of the Exhibition, the family was living at Garnet Street, Launceston, and later lived at Trevallyn. James was a carpenter/builder. He died aged 76 in Camberwell, Victoria, in 1934.
