Edward Allan Parker was born in Emerald, Victoria, in 1863 to Edward George Parker (1837-1880) and his wife Agnes Lang (Laing) Allan (1838-1878). He was a bass in the Tasmanian Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. As a youth Edward was keenly interested in gymnastics, rowing, football and boxing. He was an accountant and later a partner with the firm W Hart & Sons. In 1905 he became a director of the Permanent Building Society, and chairman of directors in 1933. He was a life member of the Launceston Bowling Club and the oldest member at the time of his death aged 82 on 1 Oct 1944.
His wife Frances, nee Quick, whom he married in 1891, and his sister Agnes Parker are also pictured in the Family Album. Edward and Frances had three children between 1892 and 1897, but Beryl died when she was 12 days old in Sep 1894.
