John King was an accountant with the Bank of Australasia in Launceston at the time of the Exhibition in 1891-92. Born in Galway, Ireland, he married Louisa Burke, formerly Blake, in 1873 in Victoria. Louisa was the widow of Thomas Ulick Burke and the daughter of Sir Thomas E Blake and Letitia Maria O'Brien of Menlo Castle, Ireland.
John and Louisa had three children. The first two were born in Victoria; Edith in 1873 and Louis in 1875. Louis died aged 7 months in 1876. Amy was born on 29 Sep 1877 in Launceston. The family moved back to Victoria where John's wife Louisa died in South Yarra, Melbourne, in 1892, aged 60.
Their two daughters, Edith Elizabeth and Amy Louisa, also appear in the Album.
