Emily Kidd was born on 2 Feb 1881, the fifth child of Alexander Kidd (1843-1923) and his wife Emily Mary Smith (1841-1923). On 2 Feb 1904 she married Robert John Strike, an electrical engineer with the Launceston City Council. Their three children were born in Launceston: Mollie in 1908; Betty in 1911 and Esme in 1912. For some time before their deaths her parents were living with Emily and her family as they both died at the Strike home. Emily died aged 45 on 15 Nov 1927 at 6 Tulloch Street, Launceston. She was buried at Carr Villa in Section E 25. Robert Strike died aged 68 in Nov 1941 and was buried with his wife. Emily attended the Tasmanian Exhibition with her parents and brother Robert Kidd.
