Robert Kenworthy was born about 1824 and married Ann Sarah Presnell in Hobart on 1 May 1847. They had 14 children between 1848 and 1872. The first four were born in Hobart, although Henry and Alice died as babies. The remaining family moved to Launceston in 1854 where the other children were born. Only seven of the 14 survived to adulthood. Robert was the business manager of Page's Coach Service. He was in the bass section of the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92 together with two of his sons, John and Albert. His wife Ann and two daughters were also in the choir. Robert was a member of the Olive Branch and Star Tents; members were requested to attend his funeral which left his Balfour Street residence for the Charles Street Cemetery the day after his death on 29 Jul 1892. He was 68 years old.
