Jessie Beatrice Hudson was born in Launceston on 24 Dec 1873, the fifth and youngest child of George Pridden Hudson (c.1833-1896) and his wife Catherine Christiana (May) Sherwin (1838-1880). May was the daughter of Isaac and Catherine Sherwin. Jessie was only six years old when her mother died. She was a soprano in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. Her father also sang in the Choir. Jessie Hudson married Walter Silas Parsons on 24 Jun 1901 in Hobart. Their daughter Eillen was born in Hobart and their five sons, George Henry, Jack Linnell, Geoffrey Gordon, Clarence Osmond and Frank Rothey, were born in Huonville and Grove between 1904 and 1912. Jessie died on 6 Nov 1937 at the Hamilton Hospital, Waikato, New Zealand.
