This is possibly Mrs Emma Hudson, nee Keam (or Keen) who was born about 1861. She married Joseph Stewart Hudson, a fitter from Launceston, in Victoria in 1884. They returned to Launceston and had seven children: Joseph Archibald, 1884; Florence, 1885; Charles Herbert, 1889; Eleanor Mabel (Nellie), 1890; Gertrude Ella, 1893, Horace Hansel, 1897 and Reginald, 1901-1902. The family lived at 43 Dry Street, Invermay, for many years.

J S Hudson was a keen follower of football and donated the Hudson Cup to schoolboy carnivals from 1923. He was a member of the Invermay Bowling Club and provided a trophy for the Northern Tasmanian B grade singles championship. Every year on his birthday he donated 400 loaves of bread for distribution to the City Mission, the Inasmuch Mission Girls' Home and the Salvation Army Girls' Home.

Emma died aged 78 on 9 May 1939. Joseph died in his 88th year on 28 Jun 1949. They were buried together at Carr Villa in Section C 11.
