Emily Selina Horton was born on 13 Oct 1872, the fourth child of Edward Horton and his wife Susannah Sutherland who were married on 15 Apr 1862 at the Longford Wesleyan Chapel. Emily and her older sister Susan were sopranos in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. Emily lived with Susan and her husband William Fowler all her adult life. She helped in the family business of timber merchants and home building. Emily died aged 85 on 15 Jun 1957 and her cremated remains were interred at the Carr Villa Cemetery in Launceston.
