Lily Holland was the younger daughter of Captain Henry Offspring Howell Holland and his wife Kate McNie, who were married in Launceston on 6 May 1864. Lily was born in Calcutta, India, on 27 Oct 1872. She was three years old when her mother died there on 7 Jun 1876. Lily and her older sister Alice, who is also pictured in the Family Album, were adopted by George and Euphemia Baker, nee Craw.
