Ethel Grace Greig was born in Hobart on 26 Feb 1865, the elder daughter of Charles Grace Greig (1834-1897) and his wife Mary Augusta Smales (1845-1917). Ethel was an accomplished artist and a member of the Launceston Art Society. She lived with her sister Florence at 'Stratton Cottage', 94 York Street, Launceston. She died aged 79 and was buried at Carr Villa on 16 Oct 1945. See The Examiner 1 Apr 2006, p.30.
