W Gratwick is probably a son of William Gratwick who was living in Cameron Street, Launceston, in 1892. It is likely he is the same person as the Master W Gratwick who was an alto in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. W Gratwick was also the captain of the Alma Cricket Club. In Jul 1891 he won a book prize for an essay he wrote for the Wesleyan Band of Hope, a junior temperance group. He passed his pupil teacher examinations in Dec 1892.
