Robert Burns Grange was born in 1862, a son of Thomas and Jane Grange, and twin brother of John Stuart who is also pictured in the Launceston Family Album. He was a commercial traveller and agent based in Marrickville, NSW. He married Hannah Frape at Orange, NSW, in 1889. Robert and Hannah had four children: Dorothy, 1890; Stella, 1892; Mariea, 1894; and John, 1898. Robert was an agent for Mr Frederick Mason's wool press and represented him at the Tasmanian Exhibition in 1891-92. After the Exhibition he returned to NSW where he continued to live and work for some years.
