Evelyn Sarah Gaunt was born in Launceston on 23 Dec 1880, the tenth child of Edward Gaunt (1837-1904) and his wife Emily Ransom (1845-1921). She married Martin George Brown, a secretary, at St John's Anglican Church, Launceston, on 6 Feb 1907. They had five daughters and one son. Their eldest daughter Evelyn Alison was born in 1908 in Kew, Victoria. Evelyn Sarah died on 26 Jul 1951, aged 70, at her residence 39 York Street, Mont Albert, Victoria.
