Emily May Gaunt was born in Launceston on 22 Jan 1877, the eighth child of Edward Gaunt (1837-1904) and his wife Emily Ransom (1845-1921). Emily May married Charles Joseph White Booth, a solicitor, on 7 Feb 1895 at St John's Anglican Church, Launceston. They had at least three children: Nancie, born 1900; Corona, 1902; and Donald, 1912-2002. Emily died on 18 Jan 1931 aged 53. She was buried at the Carr Villa Cemetery. Her husband Charles died on 5 May 1958 aged 96. His ashes were interred with Emily.
