Louis Bernard Vincent Galvin was born on 7 Sep 1870, the youngest of seven children of Charles Galvin (1831-1893), a builder, and Mary Ann Leary who married on 29 Aug 1854. Louis married Sarah Price on 15 Sep 1897 in Launceston. They had two children. Vernon Charles was born on 8 Jun 1898 and was a student at the Launceston Church Grammar School. Ena Victoria (Eugenie) was born in 1906.
Louis studied dentistry and was apprenticed to Arthur Lucadou-Wells. He later became a partner with the firm RG Grieve. He was an active playing member of St Joseph's Band. The Hibernian Society members were requested to attend his funeral when he died suddenly on 8 Dec 1930. He was 60 years old and passed away at his residence, 94 Canning Street, Launceston. Sarah moved to Victoria after his death to be near her children. She died at Toorak in 1951. Louis' future wife Sarah Price and cousins John Galvin and Mary Laredo are also in the Family Album.
