Albert Edgar Frost, known as Bert, was born in Launceston on 19 Mar 1878 to John Frost (c.1837-1912) and his wife Amelia Annie Sage (c.1843-1933). He was an alto in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. A book-keeper by occupation, he was a member of the Commercial Travellers' Association. He was a member and secretary of the Launceston Orchestral Society (Launceston Concert Orchestra), a pianist at smoke socials and church organist. At Sunday evening gatherings Bert played the piano while Alexander Lithgow sang and played the violin. He also accompanied Lithgow at the theatre. He had a long association with the Launceston Artillery Old Comrades Association and Freemasonry. Bert Frost died aged 73 on 25 Oct 1951 in Launceston and was buried at Carr Villa Section B1 No. 174.
