Emily Foster was born at Low Head on 16 Feb 1862, the tenth child of George Foster, senior pilot at Low Head Station, and his wife Lucy Hammond. Emily was christened at St Mary Magdalene's Anglican Church, George Town on 18 May 1862. She was an alto in the Tasmanian Exhibition Choir of 1891-92. Emily did not marry; she was a lady help for Fanny Lakin of 82 Arthur Street, Launceston. She died on 21 Nov 1915 aged 53. She was buried at Carr Villa.
