Mrs Beatrice Ferguson was born on 16 Jun 1846, the eldest daughter of James Hamilton and his wife Beatrice Stephenson of 'Brushy Hill', Avoca. Beatrice Hamilton married John Charles Ferguson, ironmonger, at St Paul's Church, Launceston on 15 Jul 1869. They had four children born in Launceston: Beatrice Christina, 1870; Ethel, 1874; Charles, 1877 and Muriel, 1885. Beatrice died aged 72 at 46 Charles Street, Launceston, on 23 Apr 1919 and was buried at Carr Villa with her husband who predeceased her by five years.
