Henry Albert Evans was born in Launceston on 3 Nov 1857, the eldest surviving son of Henry Evans (1830-1886), a baker and later a licensed victualler, and Elizabeth Evans of Paterson Street. Henry Albert was christened at the Holy Trinity Church on 3 Dec 1857. An accountant, he married Katie Raymond on 24 Apr 1883 at Launceston. They had three sons and three daughters, all born in Launceston between 1885 and 1893. Henry died aged 59 at his residence 'Glen Iris' 90 Elphin Road, on 17 May 1917. He was buried in the Anglican cemetery in Cypress Street.
