John Blumhardt Eddie was born in Launceston on 18 Oct 1859, the third of five children of George McKenzie Eddie (1818-1886) and his wife Charlotte Martha Fogg (1827-1922). He was educated at the Launceston Church Grammar School. John died in his 46th year in Hawthorn, Melbourne, on 19 Sep 1905. His brother George and sister Ann are also in the Launceston Family Album.
