Mrs Elizabeth Boag was born on 9 Jul 1860 at Morven (Evandale), the eldest daughter of Robert Edwards (1828-1899), publican, and Mary Ann Cawthen. She married James Boag at the Holy Trinity Church on 24 Nov 1880. At that time her father was the licensee of the Commercial Hotel, and later of the Volunteer Hotel, Launceston. Elizabeth and James had nine children between the years 1881 and 1897. Her fourth child Andrew died aged three in 1889. Her husband and five children are pictured in the Launceston Family Album.
