This is possibly Abraham Henry Barrett who was born on 9 Aug 1861, a son of Abraham Barrett (1831-1899), teacher, alderman and mayor of Launceston, and his wife Ann Eliza Martin (1838-1875) who married in 1855. The Barrett family moved to Dunedin, New Zealand, in Mar 1873. Abraham junior's mother died on 11 Jan 1875 when he was 13 years old, during a trip home to Launceston. His father married a former Launceston woman, Sophia Bransgrove, on 12 Jan 1876 in Dunedin. Abraham Henry married Mary in 1878 but she died in childbirth aged 20 on 14 Feb 1881 at their residence in Russell Street, Dunedin.
Abraham Henry subsequently returned to Launceston and married Sarah Jane Cox on 3 Jun 1883. They were both 22 years of age. They had 11 children between 1884 and 1900, Henry, Richard, Violet, Sarah, Abraham, Ruth, Irene, Ernest, Euphemia, Elvie and Joseph, but only seven survived more than a few months. Abraham, a storeman, died aged 66 at his residence at 15 Lyttleton Street, Launceston, on 15 Jan 1928. He was privately interred at Carr Villa in Section E2 No. 123. His wife Sarah was buried with him when she died aged 79 on 6 Jun 1940. Rachel Barrett, described as a Lady Help, was living with Abraham and Sarah in 1903 and was buried next to them in Jul 1964. Rachel, or Flo as she was known, was Sarah's daughter, born in 1881. Abraham's brother Joseph is also pictured in the Family Album.
